Benefit Concert for Georgia: New York 2008

Dear Friends,

I'm very happy to invite you to a Benefit concert.  I'm organizing at Steinway Hall  to help the refugees in Georgia.   There are about 100,000 of them in Tbilisi, and all our proceeds will go directly to the refugees through a humanitarian organization in Tbilisi.

The Georgian Embassador to the UN, Irakli Alassania, has agreed to come and speak at the event, and we will have the premiere of a string quartet by the Georgian composer George Oakley.  He composed the quartet a month before the war with Russia started, and prophetically entitled it "Dictator."

I hope to see you there!
