President of NKA: Mayor of the City of Newport

Cllr. Glyn Jarvis, 377th Mayor of Newport

Glyn was born in Williams Street, Pillgwenlly and attended Tredegar Wharf and Bolt Street schools.
His family moved to Shaftesbury Street and later to Bettws where he has resided for over 36 years.
Glyn was elected to Gwent County Council in 1991. On Local Government Re-organisation he served on the Shadow Authority (1995) before securing his seat on Newport County Borough in 1996. Since that time Glyn has held Cabinet posts for Culture and Recreation and Public Affairs, and served as Deputy Mayor in 2001/2002 when Newport achieved City Status.

NKA Secretary: Vera Brown

NKA member and Secretary since 1996.
Now retired after a career in Higher Education.
Visited Kutaisi in 2000 with a group of members as part of the Millennium Visit and assisted on various occasions with hospitality for delegations from Kutaisi. Interested in the history and culture of Georgia especially in relation to its geographical position

Liz Luck

Member of Caerleon Arts Festival committee, Oxfam worker, Sunday school teacher
Liz has a family of 3 daughters and 8 grandchildren.
She loves travelling, painting, reading, photography, her garden and meeting people.
Considers herself very lucky to have had the opportunity to go to Kutaisi two years ago.
