Lado's Speech at the Farewell Dinner
back

At the Boardroom, University of Wales Newport,
14 June 2006

Ladies and Gentlemen,

On the behalf of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia I have an honour to greet and thank you all for inviting us to Newport.

Within the process of the National Child Care Reform currently conducted in Georgia this was an excellent opportunity for us to get familiar with Social Work Services and acquire the knowledge and experience of your country. Upon our arrival in Georgia we are ready to share the role and functions of Social services of your country with our policy makers and take them into account within the process of child care reform.

On behalf of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and our Social Workers of Kutaisi Group I would like to express my gratitude towards the Mayor of Newport City for meeting us warmly at the Mansion House.

Special thanks to Catherine Philpott, Sonia Fisher and also the representatives of the International Charity Organization "EveryChild" who have initiated and arranged our visit in Newport City.

Many thanks to Welsh National Assembly; Newport City Council and all its representatives; All members of Newport - Kutaisi Association; Team of Soroptimists; Wales University, Newport and all the people who have been very kind and warm to us during our stay in this lovely country.

I am sure that with the support of International Communities, Georgia in the nearest future will manage to assist more than 5000 vulnerable children and their families and provide them with safe and proper environment.

We are absolutely convinced that the partnership with the twinning cities would be more developed and we from our side will be delighted to share and consider any new initiations and suggestions proposed by you.

Thank you once again for being so hospitable, warm and friendly to us. We would be glad to see all of you in our country.
